Can’t Wait for this ABSOLUTE KILLER Line-up @TraitorsGatePub Sat!!

This Saturday we’ll be kicking-off British Springtime in style at Traitors Gate with an explosion of fresh Essex music talent – showcasing the best emerging artists that are either in the process of industry recognition or are what we believe are some of the most promising new acts from the region!

This First Stop Festival is the sister festival to our Last Stop Festival which happened for the first time last Autumn. This is the first First Stop Festival and is promosing to trump the last stop with an even bigger line up of emerging artsist, who are destined for industry or indeed are alrerady there!

The extended evening of live music will start at 5.30pm and go through til 1am? with a line-up that we bet our reputation that no other Essex venue can match – behold this amazing list of acts:

Nova Twins – headlining the first ever First Stop is London based (originating partly from Grays) Nova Twins, who are rapidly gaining notoriety for their awesome shows and have just been shortlisted for Glastonbury! You should really be there to see this band and you will not be disappointed.

Eden Royals – If you haven’t seen or heard of this amazing band yet then you are missing out on one the best Essex based bands to emerge from the region in some time. Recently signed to Cutmore records, this amazing local act is seriously impressive with an original style akin to the tropical-indie genre very on-trend in a similar vein to other great emerging Essex bands such as Youth Club and Courts.

Figures – One the best local acts that are destined to be signed a lot sooner than you think, this band are going from strength to strength and their following is seeing a meteoric rise too, following them into London to our friends at The Amersham Arms and The Zine, this band is worth catching right now!!

Muertos – A punk-infused mix of fuzzy shoegaze, psychobilly, slacker-indie and probably many other sub-genres of the 90’s indie rock scene, this band, hailing mostly from Billericay will have you transfixed for the entire set sonically and visually as they smash through a set of truly pleasurable overdriven guitar-based numbers! Tipped for big things for sure!!

Different People  – a really great new act from the immediate locale in Grays and recently signed to Backwater channels, this band bring a contagious vitality, with the tunes to match. Their recent recordings are doing the rounds and gaining them a reputation as a new band of song writers worth taking the time to see in their early days!

Wax Colour – this band came to us recently and blew us away with their endless set of memorable material, which is both catchy and creative – a really interesting mix of music and lyrics delivered in a very palatable fashion – this is a very healthy mix for an aspiring new band and I am personally watching this band closely! I’d suggest you do the same!

Luke Sanders – First on but not the least by any stretch is one of our favourite local singer-songwriters, who will be opening the festival playing his latest material that he’s been writing over the long winter months, which we had the pleasure of hearing recently at Traitors and can report that this a thought-provoking set of tracks which are ironically very summery -a fitting opener for the start of Spring!

We can’t wait for this Saturday and we are sure you will be suitably impressed and very very pleased you made it down to the first ever First Stop festival so you can say you were there when the whole thing started!

On top of all those great reasons to come out and party, as always at Traitors Gate this event comes to you FREE of charge! So you can enjoy even more of Deverell Breweries locally brewed craft ales!!
