This Friday see’s the biggest gig of the year at Traitors Gate Pub! VANT.
After just two releases to date – the AA single ‘Parasite’ / ‘Do You Know Me?’ and the follow-up ‘The Answer’ – London-based newcomers VANT have already made a huge statement with extensive support from Annie Mac, Zane Lowe, XFM and 6Music; shows with Royal Blood and Hinds; plus a succession of positive press coverage.
VANT continue to build on this support with new single ‘Parking Lot’ released on November 13th. Like ‘The Answer’ before it, ‘Parking Lot’ has also been Annie Mac’s Hottest Record in the World at Radio 1 in the w/c 19th October. ‘Parking Lot’ is a concoction of stop-start riffs and fiery grunge dynamics that’s topped by Mattie Vant’s coolly composed vocal delivery. When set alongside the rest of their emerging discography, ‘Parking Lot’ proves that VANT possess the attitude and the aptitude to match the comparisons that they’ve been earning.
VANT’s first summer of festival touring included Reading, Leeds, The Great Escape, Dot To Dot, Calling Festival, Secret Garden Party, Boardmasters and Bingley Live. VANT are currently on the DIY Presents… Neu Tour with revolving co-headliners Inheaven and The Big Moon, with many more shows across the UK this year.
“Like the MC5 warring with DFA 1979” – NME
“…channel the likes of Pixies, the Manics, the Strokes and the Vines with such brio and menace that resistance seems futile.” – TheSunday Times
“The hype is real with these guys.” – DIY
“Rock ‘n’ roll with bundles of untapped potential.” – Rock Sound
“Creeping riffs give way to a suckerpunch of a chorus on the latest cut from London newcomers Vant, who sound like they really love The Vines.” – NME (Friday 9 October re: Parking Lot)
